Burie Lawrence Dye
In Loving Memory and Honor of Burie L. Dye
Burie Lawrence Dye served honorably in the WWII Navy Armed Guard and was liked
and respected by all his shipmates and by the officers he served with.
Burie was born January 19, 1914 in Fairmont, West Virginia.
While in the Navy Armed Guard he served on three ships, the M/S Weltevreden,
the SS Coulee Dam and the SS Mt Holyoke Victory.
After being discharged Burie worked on well drilling rigs and February 22, 1961
he was killed accidentally when his well drilling rig came in contact with
high voltage lines.
