U.S. Navy Armed Guard Center, W.W.2, Treasure Island, San Francisco, CA
“Looking for anyone who may have had the same experience that I had with a GAS CHAMBER on 20 June 1944
while in transit between the S.S. CAPE CANSO and the S.S. JAMES J. O’KELLEY at Treasure Island, San Francisco, California.
“We were at General Quarters when we were told to remove our clothes and to put on clothes and a gas mask
furnished by the U.S. Navy and not to remove anything until we were told to do so. After going through the gas chamber,
we were told to take the mask and clothes off and to take a shower.
“On 21 June 1944 I reported aboard the S.S. James J. O’Kelley, and three days later was afflicted with blisters all
over my neck and shoulders.
“I now believe that I went through the gas chamber as part of a MUSTARD GAS EXPERIMENT OF PROTECTIVE CLOTHING.
I will appreciate any help that I may get to help me prove that these experiments did happen.
