Daniel Paul Brown, born 31 December 1908, was well past the draft age when World War II began, but that did not stop him. He joined the Maritime Service and served on four ships, with very little time lost between ships. He served on the SS Caleb Strong, the SS Theodore Foster, the SS Lawrence Gianella and the SS Morrison R Waite.
