Earl E Gregory served in the WWII Navy Armed Guard Service as a Signalman. Earl served on the SS Mahlon Pitney from March 1943 to October 1943, on the SS Stage Door Canteen from November 1943 to June 1944 and on the SS Lucius Q C Lamar from August 1944 to September 1945. Earl lives in Long Beach, California and can be contacted by emal at NAVY42@WEBTV.NET.

Brand new Liberty Ship named in honor of the --"Stage Door Canteen"-- which was boarded by the Armed Guard crew on October 19, 1943, at Baltimore,Maryland. October 29, 1943, sailed from Baltimore to New York City. November 13, 1943, sailed in convoy of 65 other ships to Gourock, Scotland,. December 7, 1943, sailed rom Gourock, Scotland, to Murmansk, Russia, in 19 ship convoy and navy escorts. December 20, 1943, arrived Murmansk, Russia. February 12, 1944, departed Murmansk, Russia for, Belfast, Northern Ireland, February 15, 1944, in company of 85 ship convoy, and escorts, arrived back in New York City. April, 1944, departed New York City for oran, Africa, Ajaccio, Corsica, Algiers, Algeria, and back to New York City, on My 30, 1944, where detached and given leave, and reassignment.
