Henry Clay Burnside, Sr.

Clay Burnside
Henry Clay Burnside, Sr., better known as Clay, served honorably in the US Navy
Armed Guard during WWII. Clay served on the SS White Falcon and the USS Kansas.
Clay always performed his duties and was well liked and respected by his ship
mates and by his officers.
Clay still suffers today from the severe frostbite he got in the North Atlantic
while on the SS White Falcon but as is usually the case with Armed Guard
veterans, the VA cannot locate any medical records. Members of the Armed Guard
are lucky if they can find any records at all.
Clay and some shipmates, probably on the Kansas. Clay is on the left in the back row.

A shipmate, probably on the Kansas, name not remembered

Clay and Polly Burnside
