Higinio Albelo, Sr. served in the World War II US Navy Armed Guard Service and was promoted to a Petty Officer 3/C. He sailed on the SS Alexander Ramsey, M/S Bidwell, and the SS Markay. Higinio was discharged from the Navy 21 February 1946 and retired from the US Public Health Service in 1980.

Higinio Albelo, Sr., passed away on July 26, 2007, at his home with his wife and other family members and friends at his side.
