Seaman Durand started sailing in the very early days of the war, when
every ship that sailed was like a game of Russian Roulette. Your chances
of making a round trip were about 50-50. Submarines of the Germans and
the Japanese were almost everywhere.
We owe a debt of gratitude to seaman like M. Carl Durand and that is what this
page on the Internet is all about.
Seaman Durand lives in New Iberia, Louisiana. If you need to contact him
send an email to bowerman@armed-guard.com and I will make sure he is notified.
