Odell Floyd served honorably in the WWII USN Armed Guard. Odell served on the
tanker SS Battle Mountain and on the SS Cedar Rapids Victory.

Odell was well liked and respected by his shipmates and his officers.

He passed away in 1949 from injuries received in a traffic accident.
