Salvador Brau, 1842 - 1912. A historian, journalist, sociologist, poet, novelist, playwright, newspaperman, politician, and essayist, he wrote an earlier history of the island, Historia de Puerto Rico (1904). He was one of the main figures of the XIX century. The Liberty Ship, SS Salvador Brau, was named in his honor.

New Orleans.
23 DEC 1966 – Arrived, in tow, at New Orleans for demolition. (scrapping).
