William E. Sykes

William E Sykes (deceased) served on the S.S. Linn Boyd, the S.S. Daniel Chester French, the SS Aedanus Burke, the SS Thomas Eakins and the M/S Talisse. The SS Daniel Chester French, a Liberty Ship, struck a mine in an allied minefield March 6, 1944, 30 miles from Bizerte, Tunisia. The cargo in the hold exploded, the ship caught fire, flooded and sank. His son will be happy to hear from any shipmates of his Dad and can be emailed at d4r10103@cnrrc2.nola.navy.mil
